Project Organization

How small teams organize projects and processes: SOPs, RACI charts, project plans, WBS and meeting agendas, each with a free Excel or PDF template.

Project organization for small teams

In a company of three to twenty people, projects rarely fail on skill. They fail on ownership: two people each thought the other had it, the process lived in one person’s head, or the plan was a Slack thread. This section covers the paperwork that prevents that, kept as light as it can be.

Start with the business systems audit if you are not sure where the gaps are. It scores eight systems from 0 to 3 and turns the weakest three into owners and review dates. Then pick the tool for the gap: an SOP template for work that repeats, a RACI chart when ownership is fuzzy, a project plan template for one-off projects with a deadline, and team meeting agendas to keep it all moving week to week.

Each guide comes with a free Excel or PDF file you can copy and fill in today.
